ABOUT THE OWNER:

Kyra grew up as a child in New Orleans but is currently a Nashville Native. She is a wife and mom who loves to craft and create. Kyra loves to keep up with the current trends and references black culture in everything she does. The reason Kyra came up with The Melapop Shop is because she noticed there tended to be a lack of melanated clothing with fun pop culture references. She would see super fun graphic tees, but not many references to the melanated community. Kyra also wanted to instill a sense of confidence and melanin magic in the black and brown community. She felt that there wasn’t many clothing shops that were hitting the mark on relating to people of color of all ages, and thus The Melapop was born! Kyra hopes that The Melapop Shop will be referenced as THE shop to get all melanin apparel. We are melanin made and our melanin matters.
